Swedish Transition Effects Project Supporting Teenagers with chrONic mEdical conditionS
On March 3rd 2016 we met with an International Panel of Experts to discuss different experiences and aspects of healthcare in the transition of young people with long-term illnesses. The meeting was held in Copenhagen.
On march 7th 2018 we had our fourth annual meeting with our Advisory Board. Veronica Danko (patient perspective), Malene Jensen (parent perspective), Peter Nordkvist (patient representative), Kristina Berg-Kelly (specialist in adolescent medicine), Inger Ekman och Karl Swedberg (person-centered care) met the research group and discussed the project. The research group presented how far have we come.
We are looking for two new PhD students for the STEPSTONES project and our related study, Adole7C projekt. STEPSTONES presented their research during the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicines’ Internationell conference in Washington DC, March 6-9th. The research group held a workshop called “Person-centered and Empowering Care for Adolescents with Chronic Conditions during Transition to Adulthood”. In addition, Åsa Burström and Anna Lena Brorsson presented posters about their research.
Our PhD fellow Mariela Acuna Mora won the award for Best Oral Abstract Presentation in EuroHeart Care 2017 in Jönköping, 18-20 may.
